NEW Audi Q9 FIRST LOOK – Better than a Range Rover?
In our new Audi Q9 first look review, we take a deep dive into the biggest and most luxurious SUV Audi has ever built! Can it really better a Range Rover, BMW X7 or even a Bentley Bentayga?
The all-new Q9 is an absolute behemoth, measuring 5.3m long and 2.2m wide – meaning it's bigger than a standard-wheelbase Range Rover. But does it have the luxury, tech and road presence to justify its expected £95,000 starting price? Join us as we review everything from the power-operated doors to the business-class seating.

In this video, we explore the styling of the 2027 Audi Q9, highlighting its sheer scale and imposing looks. We examine the world-first Matrix LED and OLED lighting technology, which can project warning symbols and directional arrows directly onto the road. Plus, we look at the illuminated front grille, while noting that European regulations prevent the Audi rings from lighting up!
Next, we climb inside the Q9 using its party piece: fully electric, sensor-controlled doors. Inside, we review the technology-rich cabin, which features a 14.5in infotainment touchscreen, an 11.9in digital driver display and a dedicated 12.3in passenger screen. We explain the AI-powered voice assistant (integrated with ChatGPT) and the real wood veneers on the dashboard. Just how good is the Q9's interior quality?
Finally, we test the practicality of this enormous 7-seat SUV. We show you the optional 6-seat "Business Class" layout, featuring fully reclining captain’s chairs in the second row with heating, ventilation and massaging functions. We even jump into the third row to check leg room and head room for taller adults, before opening the tailgate to reveal a massive 850-litre boot (with the third row seats folded down).
Under the bonnet, the Q9 will launch with two powerful 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines featuring 48V mild-hybrid assistance – although a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) will be joining the range later.
