Waze in BMW’s Instrument Cluster! Full Demo & Walkthrough
Waze has released version 5.4.0, introducing the ability to display turn-by-turn navigation directly in the vehicle’s digital instrument cluster through Apple CarPlay. This enhancement allows drivers to view navigation instructions within their line of sight, reducing the need to glance at the central infotainment screen.
Compatible vehicles include those with BMW’s iDrive 8 and newer systems, Ford’s SYNC 4, and the latest Polestar models. Notably, this feature does not extend to BMW’s Head-Up Display (HUD) at this time. Android Auto users will need to wait, as Waze has not yet announced support for this functionality on Google’s platform.
In this video, we demo the new Waze 5.4 features using BMW’s iDrive 8.5 system, showing exactly how Waze appears on the instrument display and how it enhances the driving experience.
