2026 BMW X5 xDrive50e: We Got 45 Miles of Real EV Range (BMW Claims 38)

BMW says the 2026 X5 xDrive50e will do 38 miles on pure electric. We didn't believe it — not because we thought it would fall short, but because we suspected it could do better. So we charged it up, selected Electric mode, and drove it through neighborhoods, city streets, the highway, and open country roads until the battery gave out.

The result? 45.4 miles. With the climate control running. On a windy day.
