the 2023 Toyota Crown debuted with crossover ground clearance, full-size sedan proportions and a pair of hybrid powertrains. Consider it Avalon for a new generation.

Toyota has prepared four body styles for the new Crown depending on the market: Crossover, Sedan, Station Wagon, and SUV. We fancy the SUV body style the most, and we’re still wondering why Toyota didn’t choose that for its maiden USA return.

The new Crown is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture K platform that underpins some of the Japanese manufacturer’s sedans and crossovers.

The Crown crossover has a raised stance with subtle body cladding all around. It features a sleek front fascia with sharp headlights that are connected by an LED lighting element. Lower down, the faux grille and air dam are finished in gloss black. It has a distinct coupe-esque roofline which leads to a blacked-out, rugged-looking rear end with narrow LED taillights.

As for the dimensions, it measures a length of 4,928 mm, width of 1,839 mm and stands 1,539 mm tall with a wheelbase length of 2,850 mm. The brand has thoroughly updated the interior of the Crown as well
