NEW Dacia Spring FIRST LOOK – Still the Cheapest EV You Can Buy?

2026/09/08

We've had an exclusive first look at the new Dacia Spring. This is the all-new second-generation version of Dacia’s cheap electric car – but what's changed, and is the Spring still enough of a bargain to keep the Leapmotor T03 at bay?

In this video, we take a close look at the new Spring in range-topping Journey trim, ahead of UK prices being confirmed.

You'll find out:
• Range: how the new larger 27.5kWh battery lifts official range from 140 to 155 miles – and how that compares to rivals
• Charging: why DC charging is optional via the Charge Pack, capped at 50kW for 15-80% in around 28 minutes
• Design: the bolder black detailing, new LED light signature designed to resemble the Dacia Link emblem, and plastic that shrugs off urban scuffs
• Interior: 10.1in touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight years of connected navigation
• Practicality: rear space, 20 litres of interior storage, 337-litre main boot, plus 18 litres under the bonnet
• Pricing: what €17,900 in Europe might mean for the UK, and will the new Spring qualify for the government’s EV grant?
