When Mazda invites you to drive its most powerful car ever, you say yes. When you find out it's actually a plug-in hybrid electric SUV that weighs more than two tonnes? You still say yes.

That's because this new car - the 2022 Mazda CX-60 - is the brand's first PHEV (plugin hybrid EV), and is indeed the most powerful Mazda ever because it pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with a 100kW electric motor, making for total system outputs of 241kW and 500Nm!

If you're wondering, that means a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds, which is damn fast considering this is also a practical family SUV with five seats and a bit boot/trunk space.
