Wild new 815bhp Ford Mustang GTD review | Autocar
This is the Ford Mustang GTD, a name that has nothing to do with diesel Volkswagen Golfs and everything to do with 'Grand Touring Daytona', aka GT3 racing cars.
The latest, hottest-ever roadgoing Mustang is inspired by Ford's GT3 racing Mustangs and has a specification to match: carbonfibre body panels, active aerodynamics, a dry-sumped V8 making 815 horsepower and a rear-mounted gearbox that necessitates a suspension redesign and giving the boot over to cooling.
Moreover, the car is pulled from the standard Mustang production line at the body-in-white stage and sent to Multimatic, which co-developed the car (as well as the race car), where it's built with Multimatic's amazing spool-valve damped suspension.
