Skywell BE11 review: Autocar’s 90sec verdict on all-new SUV

2024/08/13

This is the Skywell BE11 review, of a new entrant to the UK market. The BE11 is, as is not unusual these days, a Chinese electric SUV/crossover around 4.7m long, which puts it in the same territory as the Nissan Ariya and Toyota bZ4X.

Skywell apparently sees itself as a rival to Audi and Mercedes-Benz, which is pretty ambitious. The BE11 Long Range will cost around £40,000 when prices are confirmed (in August at the time of publishing, they had not been set).

For that you get a 201bhp electric motor driving the front wheels, an 86kWh battery with a WLTP range of 304 miles. It can only be charged at up to 80kW.

It’ll do 0 to 62mph in 9.6sec and has a 93mph top speed, but how does this new market entrant compete in the UK? Join Matt Prior as he bring you all you need to know in the Autocar 90 Second Verdict.
