FIRST DRIVE: Lamborghini Countach - £2.2m Reborn Supercar Tested On The Stelvio Pass | Top Gear

2022/07/06

Each winter the world’s most famous mountain pass – the Stelvio – is closed. Someone has to be the one to open it for summer then, and this year that task was handed to Top Gear. Naturally, we brought along the perfect car for the job – Lamborghini’s reborn Countach LPI 800-4. A carbon-tubbed, loud-piped 4WD extrovert capable of 0-62mph in 2.8secs, 124mph in 8.6secs and 221mph flat out. Those numbers seem familiar, you say? That's because, underneath the retro styling, the Countach is almost identical to the Sian, the first production Lamborghini to receive electrification with an equally bonkers price tag.

Is the LPI 800-4 a worthy tribute to the wedgey seventies icon? We sent Top Gear Magazine's Ollie Marriage to find out.
