2023 Audi Q4 e-tron EV -- One-Week Test Drive!
Audi is setting its sights on the Tesla Model Y with the first-ever Q4 e-tron, an all-electric compact luxury crossover Audi has introduced for 2023.
The Q4 starts at $51,000 (including destination) for a base Premium 40 e-tron with 201 horsepower, rear-wheel-drive, and a single electric motor. EPA range on these models is 265 miles on a single charge.
Upgrading to Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive setup gets you 295 horsepower and a second electric motor to power the front wheels (these models are dubbed the 50 e-tron). Range drops to 236 miles on a single charge.
All Q4 models use an 82 kWh battery, regardless of powertrain. We tested the standard Q4 but Audi also offers it in a sleeker Sportback configuration.
Inside you'll find a color touchscreen with haptic feedback and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, faux-leather seats, a panoramic moonroof and -- on our loaded $61,000 50 e-tron with the Prestige Package -- a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
While we liked the sleek and crisp styling the Q4 offers -- and its excellent size for daily drivability -- we were less impressed with its overall range and a very goofy regenerative braking setup.
Check out our entire review of the 2023 Audi Q4 to see if it's able to truly compete with the Model Y and a slate of newcomers to the EV space like the Genesis GV60, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Mercedes-Benz EQB.
