This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2022 Volkswagen GTI hot-hatchback. the GTI, it has a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic or a standard 6-speed manual, 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. That’s up 13 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque compared to the outgoing model. It goes 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The GTI has a honeycomb design radiator grille, black air intakes, GTI badging, red grille line, red brake calipers, slim standard LED headlights and LED fog lights. You’ll find the fog lights integrated into the bumper in the new 5 X design which gives it a unique look. At the rear, there is a roof spoiler, chrome plated exhaust pipes, which are fully functional and LED taillights. 17” wheels are standard, 18” are available and for the first time in a GTI, you can get 19” Adelaide alloy wheels for an even sportier look. A panoramic sunroof is available on all trims. The GTI is an inch longer and its wheelbase grows by 0.6 inches compared to the outgoing model. If you prefer the traditional cloth seating of the GTI, you can opt for it on the top trim. There are also new racing style front bucket seats and a flat bottom heated sport steering wheel. Volkswagen’s 10.25” digital cockpit pro is standard on all models and when paired with the 10” touchscreen with navigation, the map can be shown on both screen. The GTI offers a modern interior with the classic honeycomb pattern on the dashboard.
