Fairly reasonably priced, particularly in light of the simultaneous release of the Honda Civic, the C4 offers a Gallic alternative to the Volkswagen Golf, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai i30 and Kia Cerato.

But is the new Citroen C4 really worth a look if you are after a fashionable small car, either as your only vehicle or perhaps as a second car alongside an SUV in the garage?

Priced at $37,990, the Citroen C4 is powered by a turbo 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine that makes 114kW of power (152 hp) and 240Nm of torque.
