● In today's exclusive video we are taking you onboard with the Austrian champion Karl Wendlinger in the 1971 Mercedes-Benz AMG 300 SEL 6.8 rennsportourenwagen at Salzburgring circuit during the Legends Grand Prix event. This amazing car, nicknamed "Red Pig" due to its enormous size, achieved an incredible second place overall and class victory at the 1971 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and it is powered by a massive 6.8 liter M100 V8 engine, which develops 428hp and 620Nm of torque. The AMG-developed Rote Sau is significantly more powerful than the road-going W109 300 SEL 6.3 model. The car weighs 1,635 kg and it is linked to a ZF 5-speed manual transmission. To reduce weight, the original bumpers were removed, and all the glass, including the windshield, was replaced with plexiglass. The front doors were made of aluminium. Despite this, the car retained some of its luxurious interior, including the rear seats and the wood-trimmed dashboard.
