Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we are going to take a look at some of the best features of the all-new 2023 Ford Explorer. The Explorer is a phenomenal car, and you will definitely want to hear what’s new with the 2023 model. But before we proceed any further, please take a moment to leave a like and subscribe to this channel for the best updates on your favorite cars. And with that, let’s look at the 2023 Ford Explorer.
The internet always exposes what’s going on because we have seen what are said to be leaked images of the new 2023 Explorer. And one thing is for sure, these images have left the fans talking. The latest generation of the Explorer has just recently found its way back into the public’s hearts after the 2020 model returned the rear-wheel-drive platform, which was loved by everyone.
For years, the Ford Explorer has been an icon of Ford’s SUV lineup. It has been carrying three rows' worth of families ever since 1990. The sixth generation of the Ford Explorer was introduced with the 2020 model, and it was built on a rear-drive-based platform that was shared with the Lincoln Aviator. In Ford’s SUV lineup, the Explorer is positioned somewhere between the two-row Edge and the three-row Expedition. Its main competitors are the Kia Telluride, the Subaru Ascent, and the Chevrolet Traverse.
After about three years of being on the market, Ford may just decide to give the Explorer a mid-cycle refresh in 2023. If they were to do that, the 2023 Explorer would definitely get some tweaked styling and a handful of new features. Who knows? They may even decide to add Ford’s BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system. However, we don’t really expect that much of a change in the powertrain.
The spy photos that were supposedly leaked only show a refresh in the exterior design. The SUV seems to have a slightly reshaped head and taillights, new-looking vents that are on each side of the front bumper, a new wheel design. The body of the 2023 Ford Explorer seems to have received a massive redesign.
Depending on the model, you will get various wheel sizes. It all starts with the 18-inch alloy wheels, which are the standard size, all the way to the 21-inch alloy wheels, which are offered on the Ford Explorer Limited variant.
The 2023 Ford Explorer has a pretty powerful engine, being in the form of an EcoBoost engine that has a capacity of 2.3 liters. This engine can give you 300 horsepower and 310 pounds-per-foot of torque. At the same time, the Ford Explorer ST and Platinum models of the 2023 edition also get bigger and stronger engine variants. This is the 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, which is capable of producing 400 horsepower and about 415 pounds-per-foot of torque. The 2023 Ford Explorer Platinum will come with 365 horsepower and 380 pounds-per-foot of torque.
Each variant of the 2023 Ford Explorer comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power from the engine to the back wheels. However, there is still a four-wheel-drive configuration available.
The 2023 Ford Explorer is rumored to come in the ST and Platinum models, which carry a formidable engine in the form of a 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine.
The 2022 model also had some features available as options. These options include adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic park assist. The Explorer was raised as a mid-pack performer in the three-row SUV segment. One thing to appreciate with the 2020 SUV of the year is the newfound handling prowess of Ford's switch to a rear-wheel-drive platform.
Ford has yet to announce the price of the 2023 Ford Explorer. Maybe the price might increase given the upgrades and changes. However, we can only hope that the price offered will not be far off the mark from the price of the previous variant. If the price offered for the base model Ford Explorer was around $32,800, it would not be that different from the latest generation.
