2024/05/29

The 2025 Porsche 911 models have undergone significant updates, particularly with the introduction of the Porsche 911 Hybrid. The new 911 Carrera GTS, now a hybrid, boasts a newly developed 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with an electrically driven turbocharger and an in-transmission electric motor. This Porsche 911 Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 mph. Meanwhile, the 911 Carrera features an updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine. These enhancements come alongside new styling, advanced aerodynamics, and improved connectivity in a fully digital cockpit.

Inspired by motorsport, the Porsche 911 Hybrid in the Carrera GTS models uses racing expertise to optimize its hybrid system. The powertrain includes an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated electric motor, delivering up to 110 lb.-ft. of torque and 40 kW of power. The electrically driven turbocharger enhances performance and efficiency, with a high-voltage battery supporting the system. The 3.6-liter boxer engine in the Porsche 911 Hybrid generates 478 hp by itself, contributing to a total system power of 532 hp. The lightweight hybrid system improves performance without significant weight increase.

The Porsche 911 Hybrid models also benefit from an optimized suspension and advanced aerodynamics. The 911 Carrera GTS features rear axle steering, adaptive dampers, and a sport suspension with a reduced ride height. New wheel designs and carbon fiber aeroblades enhance efficiency and performance. The exterior design updates include active air intake flaps and LED Matrix headlights, while the interior offers a fully digital instrument cluster and expanded connectivity options. The new Porsche 911 Hybrid models combine traditional 911 design elements with modern technology and enhanced performance.

The new 2025 911 Carrera is available to order now as a Coupe or Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive. Additionally, the 2025 911 Carrera GTS is also available as a rear and all-wheel drive model (911 Carrera GTS and 911 Carrera 4 GTS) in Coupe or Cabriolet form, and as a Targa variant (exclusively available with all-wheel drive). Both powertrains are fitted with PDK as standard. Deliveries of the new 2025 911 Carrera models to U.S. Porsche Centers are expected to start in the fall, and at the end of 2024 for the 911 Carrera GTS models. The current 911 Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 RS models will continue to be offered for the 2025 model year, with pricing unchanged for these variants.
