2018 Buick Regal TourX | CarGurus Test Drive Review

With its first station wagon since the Roadmaster, Buick hits a sweet spot, pricing the new Regal TourX between the value-laden Subaru Outback and the luxurious Audi A4 Allroad. But while its engine feels plenty capable and it certainly has the beefy look of an Outback, our reviewer noticed a distinct lack of ground clearance, making this wagon bit more show than off-road go.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine under the 2018 Regal TourX’s hood generates 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. But a mere 5.75 inches of ground clearance (only a half-inch more than the Regal sedan) undercuts the adventurous design.
Inside, materials don’t quite match what you’ll find in the Audi, and cloth seats are standard on all but the most expensive Essence trim. Still, Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system is excellent, with clear and easy-to-use controls paired with a selection of physical knobs and buttons.
Most upgrades on the TourX will cost buyers—you’re more likely to see “available” next to an option on the spec sheet than “standard.” To find out how Chris Wardlaw would option his ideal Buick Regal TourX, read the full review on CarGurus: https://cargur.us/pLn9R
